Neneh’s Alchemy

I’m not going to lie, writing a blog is definitely out of my comfort zone and even though at my core I know I have a lot to share with others, the thought of posting on Social Media makes me extremely uncomfortable. Especially the thought of over sharing…..but what is over sharing? It is up to the reader to define their own boundaries and not for me to dictate or restrain myself in fear of people not liking my posts. Every reader is able to decide when they have read enough for themselves.

I came to the conclusion that I needed to write this post, not just for me, but for any others who may find a small nugget of joy or a spark of interest created by my words. The downloads I receive and the patterns I observe are not mine to keep and if I am too scared to share it then I may be depriving someone else.

Life is a dance, call and response. The trick is to know when it’s your turn.

Being silent is as damaging as shouting all the time

Example:

I recently withheld information from someone instead of speaking out and allowing them to make their own decision and choices based on that information. I was fearful that they would be offended/hurt by what I had to say so I held back.

Consequence:

They felt belittled and frustrated that I had “controlled” the situation and decided, for them, that they couldn’t be trusted with all of the information I had.

Remedy:

Who are we to assume we know best for someone else? Share authentically with no agenda other than honest communication. Don’t make assumptions. We never know what another is experiencing in that moment.

Until next time
